Wanted, 8.5 to one pistons

Ring land. All have been broken directly under the squish band of the piston. Now I blend the piston tops and edges of the head.
I found two hotter plugs were in the broken holes. I had too much fuel mixture, maybe into the low 12s. ( I have a stand alone CIS-E modded to flow 77Grams per 30 sec per hole). Pretty sure I had some hydro locking at the squish area.

Was around 10# boost. 26* timing. Should pass around 170HP+ @ those numbers. Ran great for about 6hrs.
All these drags/street guys say that it will run for 10 years at 10# on the stock pistons.

Current setup; 9#,less fuel, 1 GPH or more, water injection@ pre snail, 25* lead. Double Shimmed head gasket, block dimpled between the holes. 4 colder plugs. Blended chambers.

It still roast both front tires in second gear and torque walks hard in all gears. Fun in the rain. But between this engine and a customer that thinks he should make 300HP with stock pistons, I need some more.
I will move to the 2.0 next, after I run out of stuff for the 1.8. This rotating ass has been in for 6 yrs. Still uses the same gapless rings( had 150 compression with the broken pistons).
Later, MM

Interested in a set of low-mileage used ones? I also have a set of brand new .020 over 8.5:1 1.6 pistons and rings if you are interested.

Used standard bore is the best for me. The block is 2.5 over so I am set up for stockers. Thanks, How much?

When I hurt this block I will go with the 2.0.

The next Chumper may have one Buick V6/Caddy Northstar, etc in the back of the Mk 3 Jetta.

Mike, I have a set of STD 1.8 JH pistons, clean with new rings installed. I changed them out to 10:1 and they only have been hand turned on the engine stand. I can make a deal for them in exchange for one of your prep guides.
