Who's going to MAM?

I looked at the entry list and there are only 2 IT7's registered for this weekend. Come on guys, we need to do better than that!

I wish! I might not even make Gateway next weekend. My carb is down in FL getting rebuilt

I might have to pull a spare carb to make sure I'm at Gateway. Can't pass on the 10 minute tow!!

Mike,

Can't make it to MAM. I will make all three events in May. GIR, HMRC and MMP. The "Yellow Peril" is getting the Tri-Link and Panhard Bar installed. I'm also going to try a couple of different rear Diffs at GIR.

Scott,

Let me know how the carb deal works for you.

Well, this post got me off of my rear and I went out and grabbed a spare carb and slapped it on. It at least ran so it looks like I'll be at Gateway for the Friday morning T&T (have to work that afternoon). If the carb performs ok, I'll be running on Sat. but not Sunday.

Mark, will you have driven the car with the new suspension before Gateway? If not, you're going to love it! Which gearsets are you going to try out?

Scott,

No I will have absolutely no seat time with the new suspension before Saturday morning practice. I'm hoping for the best. I understand that it should help carry a lot of speed through the corners. Actually the install hasn't even started. Nick worked on his and Larry's cars so they could make MAM this weekend. That put mine on the "later" list. I've been assured that it will be ready Friday Afternoon for the trip up to StL.

On the Diff issue for GIR and MMP I really kind of like the stock 390 and if the suspension works as advertised I may stick with it. I hope to have the 411 and the 444 to try out. Everyone tells me that the 488 is the way to go. I'm just trying a few things to find out what works best for me with the goal of runing the ARRC this year. I'll want details of how the carb works for you.

I'm just hoping for a carb that'll pull all the way around the track!!!

I've yet to have this car pull down the straight in a setting with other IT cars (first time on track was on a Driver Ed day and the carb was fine). I haven't been able to get it above 6K down the straight

Hopefully my real carb will make it back in time for Saturday. I've got a new set of Nikki Guru's working on it in FL.

I dig my 4.88's. Great acceleration off of the corners, but a little buzzy coming down the straight. As far as shifting...down into 3 coming into 2, into 4th at the track out point of 2 (mid way across the track if I carried enough speed through). 4th all the way through the 3 4 5 complex (bouncing the shiftlight when I do it right), into 3rd in the braking zone of 5. Sometimes into 2nd depending on traffic in 6, otherwise 4th just after the track out point of 6, into 3rd for the hairpin, back into 4th right after the tires on the wall of the oval, and 5th at the apex of NASCAR 4. The only shift points I remember with the 3.9's is 3 to 4 at the apex of NASCAR 3 and never seeing 5th.
