Is anyone using more than one lipstick cam for their incar footage?  I have just decieded to step up to a CCD camera system and would really like to have the main cam pointed out the front and a pic in pic of a cam facing out the rear of the car.  Does anyone know of a mixer box that can run off the cars voltage to do pic in pic?

Thanks,
Jeff

Jeff,
There are a ton of splitters out there. I use a quad set-up for BAJA racing. The problem is finding a SMALL one that runs off of car voltage. I went the other way and found the smallest one i could and converted it from 5VDC to 12VDC usage. It's not a hard conversion, parts are "off the shelf" and you have to know your way around a soldering iron. Let me know if you're interested in more. write me at<[email protected]>

I ran the roof-mount lipstick cam with the Audiovox PVR this past weekend. Video was awesome and instantly available. I had a hugfe crowd in my paddock after sessions, checking out my video. Roof-mount is definitely the way to go.

I'll post back on my thread in the Bargains section when I've got it uploaded - likely this weekend.

For those using the helmetcamera.com cameras, which resolution cam did you guys get? the 380, 480, or 560? I wanted to just get the 380 as it is the cheapest but have no idea if the quality is that good.

Also, I am running a 1 gig memory card, and running the PVR on it's highest resolution means I need to download the footage after each session or the mem card fills up.

Jeff, are you using a 1GB card on that mustek player that you linked to in your second post? Just wondering because it says up to 512mb on the specs listed. 1GB would be great.

thanks all,
steve
