Mid-Ohio Double Regional Oct. 9 & 10

I've looked at my car in the garage... It is still covered with junk after the last race weekend. Will toss it on the trailer and pack whatever I think about. Beer, chips and more beer are at the top of my list of things to pack.

See you all at the track! :eclipsee_steering:

I was wondering what was taking you so long... ;)

$1's? What, is there an excursion to some local establishment planned later? 8)

Remember the $1's!

No, no, no, you've got it all backwards. Downing typically drops larger amounts for the 'extended-term sessions'. I'm the cheap-ass that frequents the stage and only drops the $1's. And we won't even mention Hobbs...........

For some reason I seem to qualify better on Saturday after an enjoyable night at what has seem to become our regular Friday night excursion (sometimes Saturday night as well). :D

I was wondering what was taking you so long... ;)
Just had to get a feel for wether or not I could get the car ready in time or not, but I'm currently in the car heading back from meeting Bone near Cincy, with a 4.9FD equipped ITB EG DX tranny in the trunk. Should get it back in the car tonight and be ready to go. BTW Vaughn, I was at the local Pick & Pull this morning while they set out a fresh '79 924, complete and unwrecked.

I'll stick with my easy to work on, easy to find parts for, and cheap to run Honda's, thank you very much. :)

Oh my. I imagine some people will have their sights set on track records this weekend, on the "kill" setting. Would leaving the rain tires at home mean certain hurricane?
Friday - Sunny, 73°/49°, 0%
Saturday - Sunny, 78°/49°, 0%
Sunday - Sunny, 75°/50°, 0%

LOL! Hey, Mustangs are even cheaper and easier than Hondas, hint hint... ;)

Yeah, weather looks excellent, looking forward to it.

Ill bring the rain tires to ensure 0 rain for the weekend. Unless someone else wants to bring them... I'm packing light and leaving the rains at home would be just that much better!!! See you all at the track!

Sitting here ready to go, but still waiting on the UPS guy to bring me my brake pads. Sucks my house is like the last freaking delivery point for the UPS route.

I had a blast this weekend!! Not as fun this morning sitting in the gravel at T3, but that was all my fault. Sure did make the race interesting. Just watched the video - got 24 (yes - 24) cars on the first lap. A little damage from getting hit on the back straight, but nothing to keep me from running next weekend. Shawn didn't get as lucky with the damage... Got collected in whatever happened at T7 at the start.

Congrats to Bob and Joe - as usual, top of the class both days. I was very happy to get 3rd on Sat. (First non-Moser!!) Sun. - ended up with a 4th. Congrats to Greg for the Third today.

Hope everyone had fun! Thanks for coming to the event. :eclipsee_steering:

Matt - thanks for greeting me at the sand trap at T3 yesterday morning! lol. it always seems we are in the same location off and on the track. haha.

Great weekend though and I cant WAIT to see your video. And of course I didnt have my camera this weekend. never fails right??

GREAT fun this weekend - thanks to all I played with! 'Cept those ITA guys who kept jumping in front of me at the start then holding up the parade... ;)

Great fun racing with Hardison and Ruck, and a few other misc guys... makes me sad to be leaving ITB!

Great great weekend, awesome weather, couldn't ask for a better end to the season.

Congrats to Vaughn and Dan on beating the ITB Pro Course track record Sunday, and especially to Vaughn to now be the Club & Pro Course record holder. Had there been one more lap Sunday afternoon, Vaughn would've got me - my car had tightened up pretty bad.

I just don't know if my lap times were good enough to take the car to the ARRC - 1:47.9 Club Course & 1:46.0 Pro Course. I was hoping both would be at least half a second faster. But, as everyone got a good laugh out of all weekend, I accidently blew out my rear windshield Friday night, so I was running those times with a huge hole in my rear hatch, and its obvious bad-aero. With rear glass, and a new splitter/air-dam attached to the front end, could I just maybe get this thing moving fast enough in a straight line to not be dog-meat down Road Atlanta's back straight?

Video of the first lap. Starting in the 41st grid position sure was interesting! Used the pit out lane at the first turn to 'help' work my way up. (Without cones to block it off - pit lane is the racing surface and fair game.) Contact on the back straight took chunks out of the rim and messed up the rear quarter. (Extended wheel studs do way more damage than you'd think!) I had no idea what happened behind me...

Downing, YOU ARE A WILD MAN!!!! WOW what a first lap! :happy204:

I had a BLAST dicing back-n-forth with Vaughn and trying to keep Kevin in my sights. Absolutely great, close racing all weekend! Congrats to Vaughn for the new ITB Pro course record. :023:

I kept looking in my mirror at you and Vaughn closing in throughout the second half of Sunday's afternoon race, and then looking down at my Traqmate and seeing consistent 1:42.2's to 1:42.4's, so I knew you guys had to be hauling the mail. Nicely done. Dan, you keep faster and faster in that thing. When I left the track yesterday, I thought that between Vaughn, Dan, Scott, and myself, that was one of the better ITB fields Mid Ohio has seen in a while.

Yeah - for an ordinary run-of-the-mill double regional, that turned out to be a real barn-burner!!

Very very cool. For only running one weekend all year, I definitely lucked out and picked the right one!!

Thanks to you guys for making it a great one.

Congrats to all for a great weekend. Sharon and I had a blast, even though there were plenty of disappointments. Much better racing than we had in early August (no Mr. Chopper!!!!!)

I can't believe that after 4 years without major engine problems, I get a rebuilt engine that I specifically ordered as an endurance engine, not a grenade, and it lasts 4 races!!!!!!

So, this season is done. The team is circling the wagons, and starting to evaluate our options for next year. We may be down, we are definitely not out of racing. We will keep you all updated on progress.
