Just to make 100% sure I am legal would a cage setup using left and right X bars in the door openings augmented with one "Nascar" door bar protruding into the doors meet both the 07 GCR and the door gutting regs?
As long as the NASCAR bar and the long bar of the X were made of either the Min. spec'd tube or (RN's correct me if this changed recently) the same size tube as used in the hoop.
So, if its a traditional 3 bar X, no using 1.00x.023 tube for the NASCAR bar
Lets try to make this more interesting, I make a cage ( mandatory bars ) out of 1.75 .095 and make the one Nascar bar and one of the X bars out of .095 and the other X bar (the two part bar) and the supports for the Nascar bar out of 1.75 .065........... Still legal ? ( meets two bars rule, and the mandatory parts are correct tube )
As long as the 2 REQUIRED elements of the cage are legal size and wall thickness, you are legal. And in spite of the frequent rules nerd assumption that an x is illegal--remember that a bolt in can be three piece door bars with sleeves and be legal. Only bar speced as continuous is main hoop. Kick your x into the door cavity and you are good to go. Flame away!!
