Have you just used this camera in the car without the remote? It looks like a good deal, and I am not ready for the remote camera yet.

FWIW I have the IO Port mount.

I have not tried it without the remote camera. I was using an old VHC camera before and got annoyed with all of the shaking.

Assuming the I/O port mount will attach to the camera (which I'm sure it would) you're welcome to try it out in a session if you would like. I'm currently racing in ITA. I could easily convert the Mini DV tape to a VHS one after for you. (Saw that you're from the NER.)

Besides it will give me a chance to "spy" on the ITB field; being very hopeful for next year.
