Results from Lime Rock??

A few people were curious to see the video I have. For some odd reason, I didn't feel like spending much time making it very pretty. Don't know why? :( The sound wasn't working, but the video made it through everything. Even I found the video pretty interesting.

So you're saying my video is crashing too? LOL

I tried something different - now does it work? (It would be using quicktime)

Video works now. It does look like a mechanical failure. My guess is that your left-pointing left rear tire wasn't due to the accident - but was the cause.

I still can't get it to work. Any suggestions?

Yeah - don't watch it. It isn't pleasant.

Dave can chime in about the wheels - now I can't really remember which ones were straight in the end. But it looks like the tail went out even before the apex. If Dave was trying to take west bend too fast, you would have probably seen the car "running out of road" This clearly wasn't the case.

The video isn't that bad. The only person who refused to watch it was my mother, but that's understandable. Going into the grass, I still thought I would be able to recover. Not that I've ever gone into the grass, but it's usually doing the "if Jake F. can do it, so can I! (or not)".

I'm honestly not sure what happened. Both left wheels are o.k. The right side...well, not so o.k. After watching the video several times, it seems odd when the rear started going out. (When watching it on the computer, it is a bit harder to see.) Normally when I go through the corner too fast there, I just use both sets of rumble strips on the exit. It does seem odd that the rear came out before the apex. Someone mentioned that maybe I'm just not used to the rear coming loose on a FWD car - nope, that's not it. :rolleyes:

I'm not sure if I'm doing something wrong when hosting the video, but here is a less compressed version.

I can verify that!

Yeah, I'm really troubled by how soon and severely it came out on that corner. I wonder if there was some kind of loss of power that unloaded th rear.

Dave - I am sorry to hear about your car but am glad that you are alright. That's the most important thing. I've been there before and can understand the whirlpool of emotions you're getting right now. My only advice is to just give it some time to settle down in your head and eventually it'll come to you on what you want to do next. Personally, I'd love to see you come back with a new ITB Prelude, after putting all of the knowledge into it that you've gained from the first one.

Rick - Congratulations on your ITA win! It sounds like it was one heck of a race and quite the accomplishment. :023:

You didn't oversteer in westbend did you? Looks like you may have and when you did, then broke something. Yeh, that DID s()*k big time. Glad you are ok and the the boys were able to help you out to get home.

<big smile!>

I'll be sure to share this with Melissa too.

I do have to say, I prefer his "fast car, fast car, do do do, fast car, fast car" song better. Oh, and just wait until he sees the roll over contest at Summit Point / HypRfest.
