SCCA race at MO on GrandAm weekend

Yeah, my Runoffs schedule got changed, so instead of having a 1:30pm session to make at Road America on Monday, I know have a 8am session to make. That just made everything a little too rediculous to make work, so I had to punt on the Grand-Am weekend. Sucks, as the IT side of me has been waiting 10 years for an event like this to happen, but the Prod side of me knows what's really important at the moment. So that being said, I'll still be at Mid Ohio all weekend through Saturday night, but leaving for Road America ~8am Sunday morning for an ~3pm arrival.

Wuss - there's plenty of time to drive RA after Sunday's race :D

BTW, my money's on you at the Runoffs - you were looking SO strong at Grattan until that last lap.

Anyone know if they'll let us in the gate late Thursday afternoon and allow us to stay the night inside?

Yes. No registration until Friday morning, but we will be able to get in the gate and setup 'home' for the weekend. I've got an allignment appointment for 5pm Thursday and will be at the track after that.

See you all there!

You two need to stay away from each other (and Miata's) on the start...

Sorry I am missing it. :(

(I did at least get my transmission put back together last night.)

Steve - We still need to see your in car video. I think we just need to stay away from Miata's period:o

I didn't know you two got together until after the race - I was too busy trying to miss the Miata.

Thanks for posting. Thats the video Downing and I were looking for.
Holy bump drafting Batman! :D You're car has some serious torque!

It appears that the white Miata may have locked his brakes? (cause you can see the car get goofy under braking) Hit Matt and that turned him to the right and in to me. He cought my left front fender/bumper which cut his right front tire. Bummer.

But thats hard, tight, and close racing!

I'm a popular guy to have behind you on a start.... :)

I see that.:eclipsee_steering:
The offer stands, if you are ever directly behind me on a start you are more than welcome to give me a shove. It would be greatly appreciated :D You know, since Honda's dont have any torque :p

I'm going to take the blame for that contact. I definately moved over and thought I had him cleared. The overlap couldn't have been more than inches if there was any overlap... Knowing the folks you race with had its advantages - if that had been someone I run with all the time, they would have cut me that few inches of slack and everything would have been fine. I've cut that much (and more) slack to folks and will do so still in the future. Sorry it happened and glad your car (Greg) didn't get any worse damage. Also glad Steve didn't get caught up in that mess (or potemtial mess)...

Hopefully things go better this weekend! I will miss having Steve behind me for that 'push' at the start!! :)

I think the "SpecMiata" factor was also in play. They give no room as they can't afford to (in many of those drivers minds). The ITA guys can and will because our different cars do different things in different places. I think he could have probably avoided you. But didn't. And if I had ended up hitting him, I most certainly would have had an "entertaining" conversation with him.

Just don't expect it every time... :)

Matt and I had discussed this beforehand. I was half a beat behind on the gas at the green so my best bet was to go with him anyway.
I had to feather the throttle before the push...gutless Honduhs... :)

Do you think if I cut the 'hatch' off my Civic they'd let me run with the ARCA trucks this weekend?

Let's see....... SCCA = $250 entry and a trophy "if" you podium.

ARCA trucks = $75 entry and ...... Racing Purse Breakdown: 1st-$1,000, 2nd-$600, 3rd-$550, 4th-$525, 5th-$500, 6th-$480, 7th-$460, 8th-$440, 9th-$420, 10th-$400, 11th-$390, 12th-$375, 13th-$360, 14th-$345, 15th-$330, 16th-$315, 17th-$275, 18th-$275, 19th-$260, 20th-$260, 21st-$250, 22nd-$250, 23rd-$250, 24th-$250.

So, hell if I come in last I'm money ahead. :happy204:

From my spot on the grid, best racing weekend of my life. Fantastic battles all three races. Cool to watch the pros too. Thanks for putting on this event.

Thats the benefit of doing circle track stuff, you always gain a purse

Working on it... Been busy with work, but may have something posted by the weekend, but probably after the weekend (and race @ M-O!).
