The New Race Build......

I am having to do the same thing on the front of my MR2 currently. my plan is to get a generic 45mm ID tube to fit the shock weld on some ears that may have to get water jetted, then send the piece to teh machine shop to get the gland nut threads cut. after that is done, install it and mark where to weld teh tabs for the sway bar.

Is that your basic plan or is there a cheaper way?
similar, basically taking a steel tube section threading the outside the same as common coilover spring perches and lock nuts, then machine the gland nut in to it. After that we have to take a larger diameter pipe weld on the upright pickups tabs then thread the inside of it to the outside of the strut tube to allow it to adjust the ride height with out affecting preload on the springs. Basically what your doing but with more steps and more fabrication and thus more cost....

be carefull with the chisel.. or atleast when using an air chisel:)
you don't need an air chisel if your good like me :Dor I guess bad, managed to punch a hole through my coupe's floorboard with a hand chisel

  1. Sell "whateveritisyou'retryingtobuild"
  2. Buy a Civic or Miata
  3. ?????
  4. Profit!!!
;)

Christian, who really loves all the OTS chit available for his car.
Don't tempt me, a miata is the normal next car for someone running saturns, after years of effectively being a masochist with a Saturn, a small, rwd car with an aftermarket gets really attractive..... even if it is a miata
I tried to escape a few years back and bought an IMSA camaro project, that was a bad decision, sure it has tons of power and more parts support than about anything else… but I learned a quick lesson in the economics of going faster. The heads and intake cost more than building even a saturn race motor.

there is enough honda stuff in the shop already.. Heck we just aquired another future ITB honda. My car is to ugly to sell, but it wasn't that pretty when it was new either.
