I called the track today, just to see if there was any printed info on the event; apparently there is not. The lady I spoke with did confirm everything Tom noted above: this is a WGI event, $250 per car, registration opens at 6am, cash or credit card. BUT, she did also say that you MUST be registered for the race weekend to attend the test day. Which kind of brings us back to Jake's post.
I must say, all of this sure isn't helping me come down off the fence about whether or not to make the long-arse tow up to NY for a single-race weekend. Might be more fun to just drive up to watch - I have a feeling the ITA race is going to be one of the best this year, with MARRS hot shoes Kirk Dohne, Gregg Ginsberg, and Jon Kofod duking it out with NER's best drivers.

LOL, well, let me tell what I did to screw it up for myself. I drove all night but didn't get there until the line had formed, still ahead of reg opening, but not soon enough. So......had to wait, and the line moved sllooowly. (When I got there I was actually congratulating myself on making it there in plenty of time, LOL)
Then, I race alone, and gettting the car off the trailer, (and reserving adjacent space for buds arriving later that day) took away what chance I had of making the first session.
That said, others who arrived 15 minutes earlier than I, or those with crew, were on track wondering what the heck i was doing.
So, a little knowledge can go a long way.
The weekend IS cool, and if the race can run without stupid off course issues, it is a great track, and the field was HUUUUUGEEEE! (I got involved in an 'incident ' in qualifying..on the 1st lap, that had my great friends throwing parts and porta power units at the car, and i made race grid the next day.) But i was two from last, LOL. Still, in 7 laps I went from 66th to 26th...not exactly a trophy run, but hey..I was on the MOVE, LOL. It was fun to race with the mixed crowd, and the track IS a historical treasure.
You'll wish you went when the reports come back about how great it was...
