NHMS Memorial Day Weekend, 2013

LOL I am older and wiser and am tired of repairing bent up fenders:D I have now officially become a fair weather racer:eclipsee_steering: Enjoy your weekend and be safe.

Former residents and visitors from Andover, NH know when to stay off the track........LOL.

Interesting weekend so far. Unfortunately, Andy's car took a hard hit in G2 exiting the oval. I was kinda busy through there myself, so I couldn't get a good look, but it appears the driver (a renter?) went in backwards just out of the oval, requiring a trip back to pits on a rollback.

In morning session, not one but two sand filled barrel barriers died a valiant death...in pit lane. Two different incidents. Lots of of cold, lots of wets, and a fair amount of broken cars. Track is really slick.

Unfortunately, there's going to be a bunch from this event. I have never felt the track this slick. In some places it was like they mixed diesel fuel and water and spread it across the surface. What was weird was that I heard of the two incidents with the barrels in pit lane, one split a formula car in half. All I can think of is that standing water pulled the cars into them as they came off track.

Steph....didn't they recently run the 24 hrs of LEMONS at NHMS. Must be like driving an oil well around the track!

It was odd the track in the rain was slick in place where there was normally good grip like in the bowl at 6.
By the way the IT-7 drivers led by the J B Swan were the race chairs and although the cold wet weather cut into the beer drinking the dinosaur wrestlers did a great job on the parties and food. JB actually accomplished something I thought impossible; he made the IT 7 guys socially acceptable by the powers that be.
Having a group do step up and do the race chair job was a big help for the region. Any other groups want to take on the challenge?

Well I bolted on a used set of Hoosier H2O's and ran pretty good with no issues.
and this coming from a guy who never races in the rain!
