NHMS Memorial Day Weekend, 2013

A pass between 1 & 2 when the double yellows don't show up until 6 would certainly not be suspect. You been snortin' too much rotary exhaust?

true enough ...but that makes me think of an interesting situation

say car A and car B get through a turn, and immediately after a double yellow is thrown...
then car B passes car A immediately after, before any line of sight to the next flag station

technically that pass was under double yellow and illegal, but (assuming neither driver has a radio)
neither knows if it was legal or not... (if a tree falls in the forest yada yada yada)

in fact, any pass made on a lap that goes double yellow is suspect

I would say it is not enforceable unless there is a reasonable expectation you could see the flag, just don’t try to say I was racing back to the flag.

Just a splash mon, your adding like 3 splashes.......

Its all very scientific, we dont expect you to understand.

Hey, I was told "pour it down to the 12oz mark". Don't blame me if the car owner can't tell the difference between 12 and 21... :smilie_pokal:

Racing in the rain and being a wuss...

PS. you can see BJ's crash just behind my rear view mirror. My suggestion would be lower your head relative to the screen to get a better angle.

Nice job. And nice job to Abhi!! He was driving like a mad man!! it used to be the braking zone on the inside down into 3 was always slicker than the outside, counter to the "rain line". I don't know if it's the bumps or if it's still like that.

And good job not hitting anyone......... or did you edit that out??

You should use the rain line on the exit of the bowl and in the left hander onto the straighaway.

When you get past those EP BMWs and catch up to me, you can see the difference in our lines. I was getting the power down sooner.

Also I started driving harder when you caught up to me. I got fast lap of the race on that last lap when you were chasing me. :)

Yeah, Abhi had a really good rain line. You let a RWD beat a FWD in the rain?!? And if you could have caught Abhi, you could have hit him....gotta catch 'em before you can hit 'em.

Thanks Jeff! Abhi knew where the grippy lines were. Braking zones at 3 were tough to tell. Seemed that there was grip on the outside line which helped apex the barriers. There are LOTS of bumps at 3 still. Track should probably fix that. No, I did not hit anyone Jeff. The only damage was to your ego for not showing up. :)

For a tech guy, you can't format HTML to save your life. Or you don't care to. Probably the latter. I will look at the last lap again and re-evaluate. I know I screwed up the turn at bowl 5, late and no grip, and 9, with too much braking. I will say it was a great race with the EPs eventhough they slowed me down for sure. I was frustrated as I had to lift often coming out of 12, up 5-6 and into 11. I didn't get too aggressive with the south oval until a few laps on Sunday, too little too late.

Some ah-ha moments... should have, could have removed my rear sway bar. It was set at full stiff and my tire pressure gauge has read 4 psi too low for perhaps over a year now. It then dawned on me why I am going through so much rubber on the front tires in the dry and still seemingly slow and yet overcooking my tires... f@#k. Also, front chamber is at -0.6 and rear at -1.3 degrees. I can only lower the car so much before it bottoms out or it's below the 5" min. I refused to bend knuckles as other drivers do yet it's technically illegal. I guess I will need to threw money at off-set bushings.

mickey - who is hoping for another rainy race so to seek revenge.

Mickey and I both made a New Years resolution not to hit anybody, immobile objects or each other. So far it seems to be working.
